Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk has announced its support of the Dorset Opera Festival by sponsoring the Patrons’ Marquee with Duke’s Auctioneers.
The international summer opera festival is held over five days in July at Bryanston School in Blandford. The festival starts on Tuesday July 21 and runs until Saturday July 25. The festival encompasses six performances of two fully-staged operas, in original language with full orchestra and professional soloists.
Humphries Kirk and Duke’s Auctioneers are joint sponsors of the Patrons’ Marquee. The festival will showcase famous soloists from Austria, Canada, Russia, Sweden, Mexico and the USA, bringing to Dorset the best line-up of singing talent in the company’s 41-year history.
Audiences will be treated to Donizetti’s ‘L’elisir d’amore’ (The Elixir of Love) which is a light-hearted comedy as well as Verdi’s ‘Un ballo in maschera’ (A Masked Ball) which in contrast, is a tragic tale of murder and unrequited love. To make the experience complete, culinary delights on offer include champagne from Pol Roger, luxury picnic hampers from the famous Salt Pig in Wareham, delicious ices from Purbeck Ice Cream and five-course dinners served at Bryanston House.
Katharine Jones, partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “The Dorset Opera Festival brings international opera stars to Dorset and as such, we’re delighted to sponsor this year’s Patrons’ Marquee.”
Dorset Opera Festival Artistic Director, Roderick Kennedy, said: “We are proud to welcome principal signers from all over the world and are very grateful to both Humphries Kirk and Duke’s Auctioneers for their support.”
