Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk is proudly sponsoring two headline events at this year’s inaugural Dorchester Literary Festival, which takes place from Friday October 23 to Sunday October 25 at several venues.

The town is rich in literary associations, having inspired British writers including T E Lawrence, Ian McEwan and Thomas Hardy.

Tracy Chevalier’s sold-out talk takes place on Friday October 23 at 2.30pm at Duke’s Galleries in Brewery Square. The best-selling author of The Girl with the Pearl Earring will discuss her favourite books with Antiques Roadshow expert and writer, Paul Atterbury.

Catherine Mayer’s talk takes place on Saturday October 24 at 6pm at Dorset County Museum. The author will explore her popular book ‘The Heart of a King’ which sheds light into previously unseen corners of the Prince of Wales’ life.

Katharine Jones, partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “As prestigious supporters of the Dorchester Literary Festival, we are proud to be sponsoring two very special events which help further enhance the cultural life of our local community.”

Numerous talks will take place throughout the festival at a selection of venues. Standard tickets are priced at £10 per event and can be bought from www.dorchesterliteraryfestival.com
