Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk has announced its support of the Dorset Arts Weeks by sponsoring the fifth biennial event since 2006.
The event organised by Dorset Visual Arts takes place from Saturday May 24 to Sunday June 8 and features hundreds of open studio locations and exhibitions from a thousand artists, designers and makers across the county.
Since 2006, Humphries Kirk has donated funds to the event which in 2012 attracted 20,000 visitors to artist’s studios and events. The event contributes to the Dorset economy by attracting people from across the UK and internationally.
During the event Humphries Kirk will host a drinks reception at Durlston Castle for its clients and members of the public to view exclusive artwork (date tbc).
Simon Pirie, chairman of Dorset Visual Arts, said: “Humphries Kirk’s consistent support has been a huge benefit to Dorset Visual Arts and it has been much more than a commercial sponsorship, it has allowed Dorset Art Weeks to broaden its vision, support more artists and be ambitious about the future.”
James Selby Bennett, senior partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “We are thrilled to sponsor the Dorset Arts Week’s Durlston exhibition and hope that it attracts many visitors to view the wonderful and talented artists who exhibit their work. Spending time chatting to the artists and perusing their work is only half the fun. Discovering the delights of the Dorset countryside is a delectable whole.”
