Leading Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk sponsored the official match ball for Dorchester Rugby Football Club on Saturday February 7.

In the game against Frome RFC, representatives from Humphries Kirk attended a pre-match lunch at the club and presented the match ball to Steve Hodgson, Vice-Captain of Dorchester’s first team prior to the 2.30pm kick off.

Howard Yarnold, land law partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “We were pleased to sponsor the match ball and were very well looked after by Dorchester Rugby Football Club. We’re backing the team and we hope they have a successful season.”

Peter Grassby, chairman of Dorchester Rugby Football Club, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from Humphries Kirk this season. The club is a community organisation with a limited income stream and sponsorship is vital to its survival.”

The match review is as follows:
Although Frome is much higher up the league than Dorchester, the home team put up a spirited performance in the first half. However, despite losing a player to injury, who had to be stretchered off the pitch, Frome were triumphant in the end with a 27-15 win. Dorchester currently plays in the Southern Counties League, which is the seventh tier of English Rugby Union.
