Solicitors from Humphries Kirk sponsored The Ferret Race and Supper Night at Kingston Maurward College in Dorchester last week (Friday November 28).
The Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm donated a £50.00 shopping voucher and awarded it to the owner of the ferret which won the race.
The event was organised to celebrate the opening of Kingston Maurward College’s new Animal Science building at the top of the campus.
Jonathan Cohen, conveyancing lawyer at Humphries Kirk, said: “It was a great night and we had fun watching the ferrets and cheering them on. The event also gave us a chance to show our support to Kingston Maurward College on their new campus addition.”
The ferrets live at Kingston Maurward College and are cared for by the staff. Christine Rolfe, animal care centre head technician and education officer, said, “Everyone had a great time and we raised £500 which will be divided up between the Grove Pre-School, Home Start West Dorset and Dorset Search Dogs.
“The students and staff worked hard to organise this event and we couldn’t have done it without the help and support of all the sponsors and local businesses.”
