Transaction Services Director Chris Hodge who works for the Poole office of international accountancy and business advisory firm, Mazars, was bowled over after being the only Poole employee picked to play cricket at Headingley, the home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club ground, for whom Mazars are the official sponsors.

Chris joined other Mazars colleagues from across our regional offices as well as clients to play at this world-famous cricket ground.

A keen amateur cricketer, Chris Hodge said; “It was amazing stepping out onto that pitch. I could understand how exciting it must be for the professional players when the stadium is full. When you went out to bat, your name was announced over the loudspeaker and your photo would flash up on the scoreboard just like in a professional game.”

As well as playing cricket at the 150 year old club, Chris rubbed shoulders with famous former umpire Dickie Bird, who is now Chairman of Yorkshire Cricket Club and also met Anthony McGrath, former Yorkshire captain.

“No other county in the history of the game has won more trophies and produced more players for England,” commented Chris Hodge. “It was a real honour to play on such a prestigious pitch.”
