To celebrate one the UK’s favourite flowers, Haskins Garden Centre has launched its exclusive ‘Name the Rose’ competition across all four of its locations and is encouraging its customers to enter to win the rose.

The competition closes on Sunday March 26, and the winner will be notified on Friday April 28. Customers can guess the name of the patio rose which is only available to Haskins, and the winning entry will be invited to their local centre and presented with the rose.

This year’s rose is a floribunda with light red to deep pink double flowers which are lightly scented. Alasdair Urquhart, plant advisor at Haskins Garden Centre, said: “We’re really excited to launch this year’s competition as the interest was so great in 2016.

“We decided to continue with the rose theme as it is such a versatile flower and is grown in a vast amount of colours and varieties, so it would suit any type of garden.”

The rose flowers from June to September and should be planted in an area where it is exposed to sunlight, but with partial shade as it is a hardy variety. It is expected to reach 50cm in height and attracts bees.
