Staff from Hamworthy Heating took part in a bowling competition to raise money for Forest Holme Hospice
Fleetsbridge-based Hamworthy Heating has scored a strike for its charity of the year by contributing towards raising more than £600 for Forest Holme Hospice.
Two teams from the leading commercial boiler manufacturer competed in the charity’s inaugural corporate bowling competition at Bowlplex in Tower Park, Poole earlier this month.
Becky Guy, service team leader at Hamworthy Heating, said: “We were delighted to take part in Forest Holme Hospice’s first ever bowling competition. Raising money and knocking down pins is right up our alley! Even though we didn’t win we had a great time, and it was also a good opportunity for team building in a relaxed and fun environment.”
All proceeds went to Poole’s Forest Holme Hospice, which is dedicated to caring for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Following its success, the charity has plans to make the bowling competition an annual event.
Hannah Parsons, Events & Corporate Fundraiser at Forest Holme Hospice said, “Thank you so much to Hamworthy Heating for taking part, the event was great fun with an element of healthy competition and saw many teams vowing to return and win the coveted title. We were thrilled with the amount of money raised and can’t wait to do it again.”
