Hampshire Collegiate Prep School is opening its doors to the public on Thursday May 10. The school is running an evening of hands-on events and demonstrations to mark the occasion, showcasing the school’s academic success recently endorsed by an independent inspection report.

The co-educational independent school has made significant changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage, which is now open all year round, incorporating a successful nursery and purpose built facilities for Early Years.

Visitors to the open event will learn more about the school’s contemporary approach to education and its innovative ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ programme which takes place in the school’s extensive 130-acre grounds.

Among the information on offer will be advice on the school’s dynamic extra-curricular activities which include extended learning in areas such as design technology, art, orchestra, choir, photography, animation, journalism and various sports – all activities aimed to help develop a child for modern society. In addition, visitors will be able to speak with the school’s specialist and dedicated teaching staff.

Teresa Rogers, Head of Hampshire Collegiate Prep School, says: “Children can come to us from age two-and-a-half until they are at the end of year six.  We are small enough for teachers to know the children really well, yet large enough to provide an outstanding range of learning opportunities, inside and outside the classroom.  Each child has their own unique profile of interests and talents and our passion is in helping them to develop these and to truly reach their potential.

“The latest ISI Inspection report highlighted the significant improvement across all areas taking most criteria to ‘excellent or outstanding’ from ‘satisfactory’ ratings at the last inspection in 2007.

“In the past few years the school has made some significant advances to enhance the focus on each individual child and I would urge anyone looking for an exciting prep school to come along on the day to meet the staff and talk to the children.”

The open event will run from 6pm to 9pm at Hampshire Collegiate School, for more information visit www.hampshirecs.org.uk or call 01794 512206.
