Over 30 employees from the Poole office of international accountancy and business advisory firm, Mazars, recently swapped their calculators for gardening tools and paint brushes to help Victoria Education Centre in Poole.
Sue Stratis, Vice Principal Support Services at the school which offers specialised, high quality education, therapy and care for young people with severe physical disabilities said: “Victoria Education Centre was really pleased to accept teams of Mazars staff over three days. “
“These teams worked very hard for us. We appreciated their interaction with both staff and students. They helped with seasonal potting, planting our ‘own grown’ seedlings to form a new tree-lined woodland boundary and they repainted our horticulture buildings.”
She added: “Community ‘help’ days are extremely valuable and beneficial to us and especially when there is good communication and strong links are made. We would be very pleased to welcome Mazars staff again in the future.”
Karen Hampshire from Mazars said: “Everyone here thoroughly enjoyed it and we will definitely consider going back next year. It’s fantastic to give something back to the local community in this way and a great team-building exercise.”
