A corporate golf day, sponsored by Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, helped to raise more than £10,000 in aid of Julia’s House children’s hospice charity.

Teams made up of local business people from across the region met at Ferndown Golf Club to play a round of 18 holes, while also raising money through a charity auction and raffle.

The amount raised will go towards five days of play sessions at the hospice during the school holidays, providing fun and friendship for up to 30 children.

Sue Miles, Business Fundraiser at Julia’s House, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support given by Nuffield Health Bournemouth through their generous sponsorship of our golf day. Their contribution allowed us to provide great prizes for the winning teams. We’d also like to thank all of the golfers that took part for their generosity in helping to raise such a wonderful amount of money, as well as the golf club.”

Sales and Services Manager at Nuffield Health Bournemouth, Rebecca Hudson, added: “The team at Julia’s House all do such fantastic work so it was a real pleasure to support this day. The golfers experienced four seasons in one day as they made their way around the course, but it was great to see everyone in good spirits and the unusual weather certainly didn’t dampen all of the fundraising.”

Julia’s House is the only children’s hospice charity in Dorset dedicated to helping life-limited children and their families across Dorset and Wiltshire.
