Staff from Wilko at Poole’s Dolphin Shopping Centre have raised more than £2,000 for charity.
Volunteers from the high street household store held a charity bake sale across two days and raised £2,322.11 for cancer charity Macmillan. The team sold a variety of delicious home-made baked goods, including buns and cupcakes, as well as selling tea and coffee to shoppers.
Wilko store manager Deborah Foot said: “Our fundraising event went so well and we are so proud to have raised a fantastic amount of money. The team had a lot of fun putting on the event and everyone went the extra mile to help. Macmillan is our charity of the year and one that is close to all our hearts.”
Dolphin Centre manager John Grinnell added: “It’s great to see stores in our shopping centre doing their bit to raise much-needed funds for charities. The event was a huge success and I know how thrilled the Wilko team are to raise such a great amount of money.”
