Mountaineerin, a professional mountain guide firm, has completed a successful three peaks challenge with a 78-strong corporate group thanks to radio communications firm ForeEvents.
With the group attempting to walk up and down the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours, including the driving from Fort William to Wasdale Head to Llanberis, organisers Mountaineerin enlisted the services of ForeEvents, part of UK communications specialist group Fore Solutions, to supply digital radio communications to ensure the safety of the group.
Mountaineerin required radios for 11 team leaders that would be efficient at allowing constant communication over several miles of mountainous terrain and during possible poor weather. Fore Events recommended Motorola DP3400 UHF radios and two digital fixed radios for use in the cars at the base of each mountain. The Motorola DP3400 is a hard-working, professional digital radio and comes with three programmable buttons which can be used for emergency situations or routine messages sent to other users.
The Motorola DP3400 is an incredibly tough radio and ideal for hard working environments such as mountains and quarries. This radio is also tightly sealed against wind and dust and submersible in up to one metre of water for 30 minutes, perfect for users in adverse weather conditions.
