Poole Town Centre businesses have a final chance to shape their business plan for the proposed Business Improvement District (BID) at area consultation meetings on 14 and 15 September.
As the detailed consultation process draws to a close, the area meetings offer businesses the opportunity to hear what their peers hope to achieve through the BID for their area, and to ensure these objectives reflect their own.

The Partnership is happy for businesses to attend whenever they can to any session. Businesses can also arrange individual appointments through Poole Town Centre’s manager, Hannah Porter, if none of the outlined dates are suitable.
Poole Town Centre Partnership is also encouraging businesses to register their views through the online survey at poolebid.com/have-your-say to guarantee that their voice is heard in helping the town to thrive over the next five years. All input provided will help form the draft BID business plan to be launched this November.
Commenting on the proposed BID, general manager of the Thistle Hotel Poole Jonathan Bowen said: “The Business Improvement District is an integral part of securing the long-term success of Poole and all businesses in the area. By targeting initiatives to bring people into Poole, the BID has immense potential to help the town thrive commercially again.”
The proposed BID could generate £330,000 per year, together with potential match funding, to provide additional improvements, attractions and projects selected by the business community to revitalise the town centre.
Mark Heffer, owner of the Custom House, added: “By coming together to provide our opinions during these consultations, businesses within the Poole Town Centre are being empowered. We need to take control of our own fortunes to help drive the town towards a more fruitful future.”
