Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park is encouraging families to join the celebrations to honour its 35th anniversary.
To mark the special occasion, a limited number of tickets enabling people to visit Weymouth SEA LIFE for £3.50 each will be available from Wednesday, September 26 to Friday, October 12. The special reduced-price tickets can only be purchased online at weymouthsealife.com and are on offer each day during the celebratory fortnight to allow admission to the park where visitors can meet over 1,000 creatures in 13 different zones.
Visitors will also be able to collect a limited-edition 35th anniversary pop badge during this period to add to their collection. Past and present guests are being invited to share their special memories from the last 35 years on the Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park Facebook page using the hashtag #35yearsofsealifeweymouth.
Tamsin Mutton-Mcknight, General Manager of Weymouth SEA LIFE, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 35 years of Weymouth SEA LIFE. Each day we welcome hundreds of families to the park to see the creatures that live above and below the sea and it is wonderful to see the smile that this brings to their faces.
“As a treat and by way of thanks for their support over the years, we have released a limited number of tickets which enable them to visit the park for £3.50 each. We hope that this will be of interest to first-time visitors, as well as those people who may bring along their children after visiting the park themselves in their younger years, so that they can see how the park has expanded and developed over time.”
Families will be able to meet Europe’s only colony of fairy penguins, which are the world’s smallest breed of penguins, measuring just over 25cm tall. The park has invested in excess of £100,000 into the new Fairy Penguins enclosure, which gives visitors the opportunity to get closer than ever before and interact with them in a whole new way. A boardwalk allows visitors to take a stroll through Fairy Penguin Island and feel like part of the colony.
Weymouth SEA LIFE also features a host of creatures including penguins, sharks, turtles and stingrays. Guests are invited to learn all about these creatures which live in and around the sea and how everyone can work together to protect them from harm. Caribbean Cove is Dorset’s greatest outdoor adventure playground and can offer hours of entertainment along with the park’s Splash Zone. Daily talks and feeding demonstrations are also held at the park to further educate guests about the different species which are present at Weymouth.
