Visitors to the Dolphin Shopping Centre were treated to a hive of sporting activities and daring stunts during its ‘Extreme Weekender’, with the action-filled event pulling in crowds to the shopping centre.

The free event showcased a variety of sporting talent including BMX and skateboarding displays, with the EXTREME skate team taking to the indoor ramp to demonstrate their sporting skill and show off some bold tricks.

Professionals were on hand throughout the day to assist with coaching and more than 200 shoppers had a go at the skateboard workshops on offer and the rock climbing taster sessions from The Project Climbing Centre.

The event also offered the opportunity to find Poole’s Junior Extreme Ambassador and three winners were selected, Seth Maxwell, from the eight to 10 year old category, Alfie Mills, from the 11 to 13 year old category, and Matt Beer, from the 14 to 16 year olds.

Centre manager John Grinnell, said: “Here at the Dolphin Shopping Centre we enjoy hosting free family events where shoppers can take part. The Extreme Weekender was great fun and action-packed. The footfall for the centre was up 23 per cent and we received some fantastic feedback from shoppers and tenants.

“It was great to see so many people taking part in the activities and having a go at something they may have never tried before, plus it encourages children to try a new sport.”
