The Wave 105 Cash for Kids team are thrilled to announce that through its annual ‘Easter Appeal’ more than 3,000 chocolate eggs were donated for disadvantaged children across the south.

Charity supporters and Wave 105 listeners were encouraged to donate their eggs at various drop-off points throughout the region. The eggs were then sorted at Pickfords Warehouse where they were distributed to various worthy causes and organisations across the area.

Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “We are totally overwhelmed by the generosity our supporters have shown – this is our best year yet! It’s wonderful to see so many smiles on the faces of children who wouldn’t normally be given a treat at Easter.

“We would also like to say a big thank you to our 2014 sponsor TJ Waste and Recycling, as well as our drop-off supporters including the many Sainsbury’s stores across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, FJB Hotels in Dorset and Pickfords.”

Luke Haskell, marketing manager at TJ Waste and Recycling, said: “We’re proud to have worked with the Wave 105 Cash for Kids team to sponsor this year’s Easter Appeal, and we’re all thrilled that so many eggs were donated to disadvantaged children in the local community. 3,000 eggs is a fantastic amount and sets a new record to beat for the 2015 campaign!”
