The Sandbanks Hotel in Poole, part of the hotel group the FJB Collection, has organised an ‘egg-ceptional’ programme of activities for guests holidaying or visiting the hotel this Easter.
Located directly on Poole’s renowned blue flag Sandbanks beach, the hotel is to host a Wizard of Oz-inspired party on Easter Monday (April 9) from 12pm to 4pm. Organised by the hotel’s Funsters entertainment team, the ‘Follow The Yellow Brick Road’ event will be packed with fun-filled activities, creative competitions and face painting.
The event will give children the chance to meet some of the well-known characters from the musical fantasy film, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, including Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion. Youngsters will also be able to take part in a Wizard of Oz-themed fancy dress competition to win great prizes.
A variety of furry guests will also be making an appearance at the event, where a mini farm featuring lambs, chicks, rabbits and pigs will be set up on the hotel’s beach-front terrace to enable children to get a ‘hands on’ experience with the animals.
As well as a host of children’s activities, families will be able to enjoy live music while taking in the views of Sandbanks beach as well as Old Harry Rocks and the Purbeck Hills.
Philippa Thompson, general manager of The Sandbanks Hotel, says: “As well as our Easter Monday event we will be hosting a variety of entertainment throughout the school holiday period suitable for children of all ages. Priced at £10.00 per child, non-residents can also take part in our Funsters entertainment programme which runs from 10am at regular intervals throughout the day (pre-booking is required). We look forward to welcoming families to our Easter celebrations!”
Tickets for the Follow The Yellow Brick Road event are priced at £5 per person and must be purchased in advance. For further information please visit www.sandbankshotel.co.uk or telephone 01202 707377.
