Drewitt Group employee, Dorothy (Dotty) Husher completed the 5K Race For Life in Bournemouth on Sunday June 12, in memory of her of her father who passed away with lung cancer.
Working as an administrator at The Drewitt Group in Bournemouth, Dotty set herself the challenge to raise funds for Cancer Research in the hope of contributing funds to help the charity with its aim of finding out more about the 200 types of cancer.
Originally from Belize in Central America, Poole resident Dotty raised £200 and completed the race in 50 minutes and 51 seconds. She said: “I was so pleased to be able to complete the 5k as I dedicated a lot of time to training before hand and I wanted to help raise funds for Cancer Research. The atmosphere was wonderful on the day and it was great to see the 2,500 people donning their pink fancy dress and luckily the weather was warm and dry which definitely helped!”
Gillian Drewitt, joint managing director at Drewitts adds: “We all really proud of Dotty. We think she is extremely brave in taking on the charity challenge and we wish her the best of luck for future challenges.”
