Superior, a Dorset-based manufacturer of high integrity o-rings and seals, has won regional recognition at this year’s prestigious EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
Superior won the Developing People Award, sponsored by Jonathan Lee Recruitment. This award recognises the manufacturer that has done the most to build skills, harness talent and develop its employees.
Superior was up against stiff competition from a range of innovative businesses – small and large – from across the region. It was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics after impressing them with their well-structured and ambitious employee development project that has proven successful for both the company and the wider community.
With the regional title now secured, Superior will now go on to compete for the national title at an awards gala dinner in London in January next year.
Katie Bodman, head of training Academy at Superior, said: “This award is testament to our hard working and dedicated team, and we are delighted to have won. It puts us on the map as a modern and innovative company and goes some way to demonstrate the valuable contribution made by local manufacturers, like ourselves, to our region. We can’t wait to share this news with all our staff, customers and suppliers.
“It’s fantastic to get this far and now we’re all looking forward to the national finals in January to see how we measure up against the rest of the UK.”
Jonathan Lee, chairman at Jonathan Lee Recruitment, says: “Having the right people is a defining factor in the success of any business. Fostering and developing those talented people is important to maintain a company’s competitiveness and manufacturers are leading the way. Superior fully deserves this award for the fantastic work that they do in nurturing their employee’s skills. We wish them the best of luck in the national finals.”
