Dorchester Art Gallery has been launched as a new art venue in Dorchester. Offering original paintings, collectable limited editions and sculpture from internationally acclaimed artists, it will also be exhibiting emerging talents on the contemporary art scene.

Located in Brewery Square, Dorchester Art Gallery will become a destination for art lovers from across the south coast showcasing artwork by artists including Fabian Perez, Doug Hyde, Sherree Valentine Daines, Jack Vettriano and Mackenzie Thorpe.

Light and spacious, with a seating area and viewing room, the whole area is suffused with natural light from windows which command a view over the Square. The exhibitions will be always changing as the team keep the walls fresh with new artwork.

Gallery owners Hannah Webster and Geoff Wick said: “Dorchester Art Gallery was created to make the amazing world of contemporary art accessible to everyone in the town and surrounding areas. Artwork is a wonderful way to express yourself in your home and transform it into your personal sanctuary – after all, we all need somewhere to recharge after a busy day!

“We are really looking forward to getting to know the area’s art lovers, and hope that people will drop in, introduce themselves and register for invitations to our forthcoming events.”

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, commented: “We’re thrilled to have the Dorchester Art Gallery join our offering at Brewery Square and hope that it is something everyone can enjoy.”
