The Dolphin shopping centre, Poole, will be lining-up on the starting grid alongside the Poole Pirates throughout the 2013 speedway season by sponsoring two of the club’s leading match officials, Nigel Leahy and Gordon Day.

Leahy, nicknamed the ‘voice of Poole Speedway’, is the man that is very much in the public eye, updating spectators with the race results throughout the two hour event. He is also responsible for co-ordinating post match rider interviews.

Meeting co-ordinator Day keeps his ‘finger on the pulse’ on the off track happenings during the race meetings, liaising with track officials and riders alike. He is also involved with hosting the match and club sponsors on a one – to – one basis.

Lisa King, Dolphin shopping centre administrator, said:  “We are really pleased to resume links with town’s leading sporting attraction and look forward to working with the Poole Speedway throughout the 2013 season.”

Gordon Day, Poole Speedway Ltd meeting co-ordinator, said: “Nigel and I are delighted to be part of the association between the Dolphin shopping centre and Poole Speedway Ltd. Both companies are market leaders and we feel privileged to be connected with them.

“To have such a major enterprise as the Dolphin shopping centre lending its support is a big boost, not only to us, but to the Pirates team and the large fan base.”
