Thousands of local people attended a spring and summer Fashion Fest at the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole.
The fashion show, organised by Danielle Banjo, producer at Centre Event Management, manager of dance group Diversity and mother to stars Ashley and Jordan Banjo, featured more than 2,000 garments, jewellery and footwear from the Centre’s retailers on Saturday 29 April. The dancers featured in the show also recently finished touring with Diversity and had appeared at the Bournemouth International Centre one week before the show.
The day included four shows showcasing womenswear, menswear and the latest in children’s fashion. There was a main stage located in the centre by Beales and New Look, and a vacant unit was transformed into a Pamper Hub, offering customers free goody bags with products from The Perfume Shop, and concessions at Beales including Clarins, Estee Lauder and Dior. Thorntons also provided complimentary chocolates.
John Grinnell, Dolphin Shopping Centre manager, was delighted with the turn out, saying: “The Fashion Show has always been a firm favourite on our events calendar, but this year it exceeded expectations again.
“We had fantastic feedback from customers and retailers. A large majority of our retailers experienced an uplift in sales on items which were featured in the show and the footfall at the Centre increased.”
Danielle Banjo, producer at Centre Event Management said: “The Fashion Show was extremely well received and it drew in so much attention with audiences filling every show. We received lots of positive feedback from retailers, customers and Centre Management. This year the stage set up was bigger and better and crowds formed on the top level at the Centre to look down on the performances.”
John added: “The Fashion Show was a great start to the busy summer of events we’ve got planned for shoppers.”
