This Saturday (August 17) the Dolphin shopping centre in Poole will be teaming up with Poole Museum to offer a free event as part of its ‘Best of Poole’ summer entertainment.
From 11am to 4pm, shoppers can explore and learn about Poole’s history with a special heritage exhibition displaying a collection of Poole’s hidden treasures.
Families can also enjoy a one woman theatre show with the award-winning story teller, Michele O’Brien, who will be telling tales of pillaging pirate ships through the use of puppetry.
For the youngsters, there will be pirate-themed arts and crafts including the opportunity to design their own pirate sword, plus an exciting treasure hunt competition and free face painting.
John Grinnell, centre manager, said: “Poole’s heritage is what makes the town so unique; it’s fantastic we can mark the importance of Poole’s history as part of our Best of Poole summer events. We are thankful for Poole Musuem’s support and it’s great to have their exhibition on display for the very first time within the Centre.”
