The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole kick-started 2019 with a revised social media strategy, which included joining Instagram.

To celebrate the launch of its new Instagram channel, the centre teamed up with H&M in Poole to give followers the chance to win a £50 voucher. The competition, which ran solely on the centre’s Instagram, closed on Thursday January 17 and received 435 entrants in total. Participants were required to like the Instagram account, like the post and tag in the comments section their favourite shopping partner to enter the competition.

John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “We’re so pleased to have joined Instagram and are overwhelmed with the support on this new channel already. We set a target for the year of reaching 700 followers and we’ve already achieved 500 followers in the first two weeks!

“We recommend you give us a follow to stay up-to-date with everything that’s happening at the Dolphin in 2019. It’s a big and exciting year for us as we’ll be celebrating our 50th anniversary in July – a huge milestone for the town’s shopping centre.

“Each month we will launch a new competition on our Instagram channel and our marketing team plan to share sneak previews, ‘behind the scenes’ and influencer collaborations. H&M opened a brand new store at the Dolphin at the end of August 2018. The store took the former BHS unit, occupying 27,000 sq. ft. over two levels. The store provides women’s, men’s and childrenswear.
