The Dolphin Shopping Centre will be hosting a fun-filled event on Wednesday May 20 to mark the 50th anniversary of its charity of the year, Margaret Green Animal Rescue.

Throughout the day there will be various activities on offer to shoppers, including foot massages, face painting, pet photography, a teddy tombola and live music courtesy of The Mother Ukers in Falkland Square between 1pm and 3pm.

Not only will Wednesday (May 20) mark 50 years of the charity but it also celebrates what would have been Margaret Green’s centenary birthday.

Centre manager, John Grinnell said: “As a pet owner myself I know how much our animals mean to us. The team at Margaret Green Animal Rescue do an excellent job and it’s important we raise awareness of the charity; celebrate the fantastic effort they have done in raising aid for rescued animals in the past 50 years.”

Kate Cross, fundraising and marketing officer for Margaret Green Animal Rescue, added: “We are over the moon with the support from the team at the Dolphin Shopping Centre. It’s an important year for the charity, and Margaret Green Animal Relief Day is going to be fantastic and something we look to celebrate every year going forward.  We are inviting as many local businesses and schools to get involved and fundraise in aid of Margaret Green Animal Rescue.”

In celebration of its anniversary, Margaret Green has unveiled a limited edition #AllTogetherForAnimals T-shirt. To buy a T-shirt and support the charity visit recently launched crowdfunding website: https://www.tboom.co.uk/margaretgreenanimalrescue
