Following its commitment to sponsor this year’s World Team Cycle Speedway Cup, the Dolphin Shopping Centre had the honour of presenting the trophy to the winners of the competition.
The event, which returned to Poole for the first time in 20 years, took place from Thursday July 30 through to Sunday August 2 and saw Poland take the title.
Dolphin Centre administrator Lisa King presented the cyclists from the four teams with their medals and awarded Poland with the overall trophy.
Lisa said: “Cycle Speedway is a very popular sport and the free event attracted more than 3,000 visitors. We’re pleased to have been associated with this year’s World Cup, especially as it has been so long since it took place in Poole.”
As well as sponsoring the main Speedway Cup, the Dolphin Centre also sponsored the Junior and Senior World Team Cup final, both of which were won by Poland.
The World Cup takes place every two years, where five world class riders compete in teams for their respective countries, including England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Poland and Australia.
