Poole will be pulsing with super sounds to get more than toes tapping on 5 July as the first Summer Breeze on the Quay launches a glorious celebration of summer events across the town.

As part of Wave 105’s Summertime in the South, Summer Breeze, sponsored by Tower Park-based motor dealership Breeze Volkswagen, kicks off a fabulous mix of live music, entertainment and family fun on Poole Quay, every Thursday in July.

Learn the exotic arts of belly dancing with local dance group Belly Fusion or take part in a Celtic Ceilidh with celebrated local band Black Sheep. There’s no excuse not to join in as the traditional Ceilidh caller guides you through the dance – perfect for everyone from complete beginners to experienced ceilidhers.

Budding performers can brush up on their circus skills at Jamie Jigsaw’s Circus Workshop. Take home some top tips from the expert – from juggling and plate spinning, to diabolo and ribbon twirling, there will be something for all ages and all abilities.

There’s plenty more for families to do including children’s rides, street magic and entertainment with music from Djambo keeping the party going with a mix of Celtic, Latin, folk, rock and jazz. The evening finishes with spectacular fireworks over Poole Quay at 10pm.

John Corderoy, Managing Director of Breeze Volkswagen, said: “Providing a range of fun-filled activities, Summer Breeze on the Quay is a great for the whole family. We’re pleased to have the opportunity to support such an established series of events which both locals and visitors to the area can enjoy throughout the summer.”

Bruce Grant-Braham, Chairman of Poole Tourism Partnership, said: “Enjoying the fabulous music at Summer Breeze whilst dining al fresco at one of the great pubs, cafes or restaurants is the perfect way to enjoy the Quay’s continental atmosphere. It’s all thanks to the continued sponsorship of Breeze Volkswagen and the Quay businesses who support it so that visitors and local people can enjoy superb free events week after week. With so much free entertainment it will be a summer to remember.”
