Official commercial radio partner of the Bournemouth Air Festival Wave 105 is proud to unveil a completely new and unique evening celebrating more than two decades of dance music for Wave 105 Night Air at the Piers on Saturday August 22nd.
The new addition to Wave 105’s Air Festival live entertainment programme, “Take Off! A jet propelled journey through 25 years of dance music” will provide a soundtrack of big club tunes on the beach from the 90s through to today.
The ‘Dance Night’ will feature live performances and DJ sets from acts who have created some of the biggest dance anthems, including four time Ivor Novello Award winner Artful (Mark Hill from Artful Dodger) and ‘Ride On Time’ international hit makers Black Box.
Contemporary dance act Karen Harding will be entertaining crowds with her top ten debut single, ‘Say Something’. Also gracing the Boscombe Pier stage will be Grammy nominated, dance music stalwarts K-Klass and electronica-dance outfit Livin’ Joy ft. Luzahnn, who will perform their classic hit ‘Don’t Stop Movin’.
Completing the line-up of performers will be Bournemouth’s very own Ministry Of Sound mix masters, The Cut Up Boys. Tickets for the Saturday sundowner are priced at just £12 per head.
Keith Penny, Wave 105’s event director, said: “Saturday night is going to be an absolutely monumental new evening for the Night Air concerts. We’re bringing Ibiza to Boscombe beach for the South’s biggest ever beach party!
“With over four hours of classic dance tunes and performances by legends like Italian dance pioneers Black Box and Lymington based Artful – the production genius behind Artful Dodger & Craig David’s biggest hits, right through to emerging new talent Karen Harding, who is currently ruling the clubs and charts, and Ministry of Sound regulars the Cut Up Boys, who hail from Bournemouth.
“There is something for everyone at this year’s Wave 105’s Night Air at the Piers, from big-band, to pop and dance over one weekend, truly reflecting the variety that Wave 105 listeners love!”
Hosted by Wave 105’s Kate Weston, Thursday August 20 will see HM Royal Marines Band Collingwood kick off the proceedings with a display of music from ‘Power from the Sea’, a compilation of powerful sea-inspired music. Tickets are priced at £15 per ticket and organisers are hoping to raise £10,000 for service charities benefitting from the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCFT) through ticket sale contributions.
Friday evening’s ‘Pop Night’ stars Britain’s Got Talent sweetheart Alesha Dixon, UK album chart number one act Scouting for Girls, Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding, platinum selling pop rockers Lawson and the award winning chart act Fuse ODG.
Tickets for Friday’s ‘Pop Night’ are priced at £12 and available from www.bournemouthair.co.uk.
