Coastal Cars, a family-owned car dealership with premises in Poole and Ferndown, has appointed William Monro-Smith as its new general sales manager.
William, who started in August, manages a 15-strong team across the two locations which include sales staff, service technicians, administration and drivers.
Coastal Cars offers private car sales at its Poole dealership and a fully-equipped service department, workshop and showroom at its Ferndown premises.
William has dedicated his career to selling cars which has seen him manage showrooms for Mercedes and Renault. In his own words, William was a car salesman before he got his driving license in his teens. He said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have started my role at Coastal Cars. I have a huge respect for the already successful family firm and I’ve inherited a fantastic team which is dedicated to providing excellent customer service.”
Originally from Woodford Green, Essex, William relocated to the area for the role. He added: “I’m loving life on the south coast. It’s a lovely area to live and work and compared to the aggressiveness you can find at London dealerships, the people here are so calm and friendly.”
John Corderoy, owner at Coastal Cars is confident William can expand and improve on the independent dealership’s already solid reputation. He said: “I’ve known William for many years and he is an excellent salesman and manager. I’m looking forward to seeing him build upon the motivation and spirit of the staff.
“Around 75 per cent of our customers are locals who return to us to update their vehicles or to purchase cars for family, so it is important that we could find a manager that our customers can trust.”
