The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole is pleased to announce the opening of Chestnut Nursery’s pop-up shop.
Located in Kingland Crescent, the shop opened last week and is open to customers from 9am until 3.30pm, selling a variety of pre-potted planters, houseplants, outdoor plants, succulents, a range of preserves and local honey.
The Dolphin welcomes the popular retail plant nursery while its new shop in Poole Park is constructed.
John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “We’re delighted that Chestnut Nursery has taken a temporary position in the centre. Customers have been really supportive since the launch and are enjoying browsing the selection of autumn pots and plants.”
Chestnut Nursery is a mental health charity and retail plant nursery, selling a wide variety of perennials, shrubs, ornamental grasses and seasonal crops. The nursery uses horticulture to restore well-being for adults with severe and enduring mental illnesses.
The Dolphin Shopping Centre selected Chestnut Nursery as one of its nominated charities in 2017. The shopping centre raised a total of £646 through fundraising activities and a further £278 through the sale of its own jars of honey, for Chestnut Nursery.
Angela Mansbridge, project manager at Chestnut Nursery, said: “We’re so grateful to the Dolphin Shopping Centre for welcoming us with open arms into Kingland Crescent while we are busy building a future over the next few months for the original location of the nursery in Poole Park.
“We look forward to welcoming customers, returning and new to the pop-up shop and hope to raise further awareness of the important work we do.”
