Pupils at Buckholme Towers School and Nursery in Lower Parkstone, Poole are set to entertain guests at this year’s Tree of Lights ceremony hosted by Lewis-Manning Hospice on Friday November 29.

The school choir will sing Christmas carols as part of the memorial event at Ashley Cross Green at 6.30pm.

Fiona Castle, widow of entertainer Roy and patron of the hospice’s breathlessness clinic, will host the evening which gives people the opportunity to illuminate a light on a Christmas tree as a way to remember a loved one and as a symbol of hope for the future.

Iain Robertson, headmaster said: “We are delighted to be able to get involved in such a special community event and we hope that many local people join us as a way of supporting the hospice and to remember loved ones.”

The event sponsored by Poole Chamber of Commerce includes carols from the Poole Borough Band, prayers, mince pies and mulled wine plus a visit from Father Christmas.
