The sports and music festival is teaming up with the south’s leading radio station to launch a brand new family day which takes place on Sunday May 29 during this year’s festival (Friday 27 to Sunday 29 May).

Attracting 30,000 visitors and 400 teams each year, Bournemouth 7s is working with Wave 105 to raise awareness of the family friendly event, which will incorporate AFC Bournemouth’s Junior Cherries, the RAF and BH Live within its rejuvenated Family Zone.

Roger Woodall, CEO and owner of Bournemouth 7s, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Wave 105 for the sixth year. As the world’s largest sport and music festival, we offer something for everyone from five to 85. Our team are working hard to build on the momentum of last year by adding more activities for the whole family to enjoy – including our new family day on the Sunday which is the main focus for family entertainment. Listen to Wave 105 for our exclusive festival ticket offers just for families.”

Wave 105’s commercial director, Jon Brooks, added: “Bournemouth 7s goes from strength to strength year-on-year and we are happy to be able to offer our listeners access to what is now considered one of the leading sporting events on the festival calendar.”

As well as the festival staples of social and competitive tournaments in rugby, netball, dodgeball and hockey by day and a myriad of live music acts by night, this year will see exciting new additions including the pitchside Bulmers Summer Arena, a UK Garage tent and a cocktail garden.
