Tapper Funeral Service’s Harbour View Woodland Burial Ground has not only been awarded gold once again at this year’s South and South East in Bloom Awards, but also won the overall large cemetery category.
The annual competition, which is sponsored by Southern Water, sees more than 1,000 cities, towns and villages across the south and south east showcase their environmental responsibility, community participation and horticultural achievement.
After Tapper Funeral Service fulfilled the judges’ criteria, which included design, horticultural management and environmental conservation, it was announced Harbour View topped the poll for the large cemetery category and achieved a gold award for a consecutive year.
Steven Tapper, joint managing director at Tapper Funeral Service, said: “To win our category and to achieve gold once again is a tremendous result for us. It highlights the hard work of all the staff at Harbour View Woodland Burial Ground and their consistency in keeping the standard of the site at such a high level.”
Harbour View is no ordinary burial ground or funeral facility; it is fortunate to occupy a position that enjoys a host of wildlife and nature along with dramatic views of the lagoon areas of Poole Harbour, the Purbeck Hills and Corfe Castle.
