Bournemouth-based department store, Beales, has signed up to be part of the ‘Safe Places’ scheme, set up by Bournemouth YMCA and Bournemouth Borough Council.
The YMCA ‘Safe Places’ scheme is for young people with disabilities which enables them to find support if needed when they are out in Bournemouth town centre. This can include getting confused, injured or lost.
Mark Stevens, Beales Bournemouth store director, said: “We have placed stickers in the windows of the store making it clear that we are part of the ‘Safe Places’ scheme so that vulnerable young people can come in and will be looked after. All our store staff have been briefed so they know what to do if someone needs assistance.”
