Talented art students from Hampshire Collegiate School have launched their own exhibition, ‘Art in the Abbey’.

Year 13 students; Chloe Griffin, Samantha Eastaugh, Stephen Jarman and Jessica Pitt-Pitts, are showcasing their A-Level art work at Romsey Abbey until Sunday September 30.

Pupil, Chloe Griffin, said: “I am delighted to have this fantastic opportunity to display my work within the very building which led to its creation. The principal pieces of work for my final exam were developed from photographs that I took of the interior of the Abbey. The Abbey’s wonderful architecture inspired me to produce what I think is the best work I have ever done.”

The Romsey-based co-educational independent school has excellent art facilities and its A-Level students consistently achieve outstanding art results with 100 per cent attaining grades A to C.

Jane Pascoe, Head of Art, added: “We are very proud of the work our Year 13 students have produced and we are absolutely thrilled to have the privilege of being able to show it in such a marvellous, and visually rich setting.”
