Beales in Bournemouth hosted another sell-out Girls Night Out on May 3, with up to 500 followers of fashion and a couple of celebrity guests attending the event in search of the latest spring and summer trends.
With a cool Britannia theme to support the key 2012 summer events including the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the renowned Beales’ Girls Night Out event featured a catwalk celebration of the hottest spring and summer styles, beauty makeovers and skincare advice opportunities, style demonstrations, bra-fitting guidance as well as free champagne and canapés.
Raising more than £12,000 for Dorset’s children’s hospice Julia’s House, guests were treated to a catwalk show which featured the latest styles including florals, sugary pastel shades, ‘Brit chic’ red, white and blue colours as well as fabrics such as lace and chiffon; all from top fashion brands at Beales.
Also in attendance were actress and comedian, Debra Stephenson, and former X-Factor semi-finalist, Danyl Johnson. Debra, also a patron of Julia’s House, helped to compere the fashion show and also entertained the audience with a series of outstanding impressions including Davina McCall, Katie Price, Cheryl Cole and Anne Robinson before Danyl Johnson took to the stage to perform and kick-off the show. Aside from the latest fashions, crowds watching the catwalk show were entertained during the penultimate scene by a professional dance act who have worked with some of the world’s biggest recording stars including Kylie, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Rihanna, Mariah Carey and X-Factor contestants.
Aside from the show, crowds flocked to the beauty department to indulge in a little pampering. Dior’s guest make-up artist was on hand together with Laura Mercier make-up artists to provide the latest make-up techniques and tips and the Nail Clinic by Mavala proved popular.
Tony Brown, chief executive at Beales, said: “The event provided a spectacular pampering and shopping experience for all. We had outstanding feedback from our guests and we wish to thank everyone for helping us to raise such a fantastic amount for charity. Huge thanks to our celebrity guests, Debra Stephenson and Danyl Johnson, who both entertained the crowds with their amazing talents. Our shoppers are very fashion conscious and our fabulous fashion shows provide inspiration for all shapes, sizes and budgets by showcasing the new season collections from our in-store brands. We’re looking forward to making our next autumn and winter show even better!”
