Liz Lean PR – more than just public relations

Event: Dorset Property and Architecture Awards
Client: Planning Solutions
Event date: 09/02/2011

Objective:

To create and deliver an awards ceremony for a pre-publicised event in just under four weeks. With ambitious concepts, but without industry knowledge or enough time, the client recruited the LLPR events team to execute the production, logistics, catering, programming and script writing for the guest speakers and event host. LLPR were also appointed to secure press coverage for the event.

Target audience:

Over 300 regional business people made up the guest list with representatives from all aspects of the property sector, including architects, surveyors, estate agents and construction companies, all coming together to celebrate excellence in Dorset.

Summary of the event

This black tie awards ceremony was hosted at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC). Guests were greeted with a champagne reception, sponsored by PH Warr, and had an opportunity to network before sitting down for a three-course supper.
TV’s property expert, Phil Spencer, hosted the evening and provided an insight into his own admiration for Dorset. The awards were presented with a series of visual cues to give the audience a full understanding of the properties that had been shortlisted for an award.  Media attendance also secured the event press coverage in the local and trade press.

Capacity

300 delegates

Outcome

A hugely successful event, hosted by TV’s property expert Phil Spencer. The space was filled to capacity, with streamline production and programming, and positive brand awareness for the headline sponsor and client.

Money was also raised for the Wessex Cancer Trust who offered guests the chance to bid on one of four life-changing opportunities to fly with ‘Blades’, the prestigious aerobatic display team.
